What is Holistic Wellness?

Holistic wellness is an approach to health and well-being that considers the whole person, including their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. It recognizes that these aspects of a person are interconnected and interdependent, and that to achieve optimal health and wellness, all aspects must be taken into account.

Holistic wellness also emphasizes the importance of lifestyle choices and the environment in which a person lives. All of us, as human beings, are faced with daily decisions and situations that can compromise our health and wellbeing. Some consciously and some subconsciously. Things like how we spend our time, who we spend our time with, products we consume, the music we listen to, the news that we watch, and the books that we read. Other factors like what we put into and onto our body, how we exercise, or don't exercise, how we spend our money, the list goes on. Being holistically well, means making the conscious decision to live intentionally. To ensure that all of the above factors listed align with who we are and what is best for our health and wellbeing.

The goal of holistic wellness is to achieve balance and harmony in all aspects of a person's life, which can lead to improved physical health, mental clarity, emotional stability, and spiritual fulfillment. It involves a proactive and preventative approach to health, rather than just treating symptoms of illness or disease. It’s a complete wellness of body, mind, and soul that helps us reach our highest self and vibrate at our highest frequency.

In recent years, Holistic health has been growing in popularity, as more people are becoming interested in alternative approaches to healthcare and wellness. People are more concerned with the products, supplements, and medicines that big pharma is supplying us. People are finally paying attention and asking questions. According to a survey conducted by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) in 2017, approximately 4 in 10 adults in the United States use some form of complementary or alternative medicine (CAM), which often includes holistic health practices.

A lot of this recent interest spiked with the COVID-19 pandemic as people began looking for alternative ways to support their immune systems. Holistic health approaches such as acupuncture, chiropractic, yoga, and meditation are increasingly being recognized as effective ways to improve health and well-being. Additionally, many people are turning to natural remedies and dietary supplements as a way to support their health. Overall, it is fair to say that holistic health is becoming more mainstream and accepted as a legitimate approach to health and wellness.
